スティールパンで地上の楽園を産み出す、日本が世界に誇るオーケストラ。
中南米カリブ海トリニダード＆トバゴ発祥の、キラキラと輝く音色のドラム缶楽器スティールパン。あらゆる感情をパンに乗せて解き放つスティールパンマスター・原田芳宏が率いる、40人編成のスティールパン楽団。
結成は1998年。プロ・アマあらゆる年齢・職業のメンバーで構成され、これまで数多くのスティールパンバンドのリーダーをも輩出してきた。結成より一貫して原田芳宏のオリジナル楽曲を演奏し、世界に向けてポジティブな音楽のメッセージを発信し続けている。また更にポップス、ラテンミュージックのカバーや、本格的なインプロヴィゼーションを加えて表現される日本的情緒を持った楽曲など、そのサウンドは包み込むような優しさと燃えたぎる激しさとを合わせ持つ、存在自体が生き物のような奇跡のオーケストラ。ひとたび音が鳴りだせば、そこには広々とした地上の楽園が現出する。
2004年のCDデヴュー以来、新垣勉、伊藤ふみお、畠山美由紀、saigenji など多彩なゲストアーティストを迎え、4枚のオリジナルアルバムをリリース。フジロックフェスティバル、朝霧ジャムなど大型フェスにも出演。
2015年8月、本場トリニダードで行われた歴史的イベントとなる第１回スティールパン世界大会 "International Conference and Panorama"に公式に招聘され、メンバーを大幅に加えた60人の大編成でアジア代表として出演。トリニダードの名門バンドや世界の強豪を押し退け堂々の９位入賞の栄冠を勝ち取る。またピープルズチョイスバンドとの評判も得る。この世界大会にあわせ、入賞をもたらした曲「火の鳥」を含む5枚目のアルバムを2015年８月にリリース。世界が認める日本スティールパンミュージックの最高峰として新たな一歩を歩み始めた。

This is our steelpan orchestra Japan proudly presents to the world, creating a paradise on earth.
Steelpan is from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean Islands ... a musical instrument with sparkling sounds. P.S.O. has approximately 40 members and is led by steelpan master Yoshihiro Harada, who unleashes a breath of emotions with the pan.
PSO, formed in 1998, consists of professional and amateur musicians of every age and profession, and has turned out the leaders of a number of other steel pan bands.
From its beginning, it has been consistently playing original tunes composed by Yoshihiro Harada, and continues to deliver positive musical messages to the world.
It plays, of course, covers of Pop, Latin music, as well as tunes with Japanese emotion that are expressed by a full-blown improvisation. It's sound is a mix of encompassing softness and passionate intensity. Its existence is a kind of miracle!
Once it begins to play, a spacious earthly paradise emerges in front of you.
Since the CD debut in 2004, P.S.O. has released 4 original albums with guest singers such as Tsutomu Aragaki, Fumio Ito, Miyuki Hatakeyama and saigenji.
And it has also appeared in large festivals such as Fuji Rock and Asagiri Jam.
P.S.O. has been officially invited to the first historic "International Conference and Panorama (ICP)" that will take place August 2015 in the home of of steelpan, Trinidad and Tobago.
It will appear on the stage as an Asian representative with 60 pan players, and along with the ICP, it will release its 5th album.

と言いますのもパノラマ・スティール・オーケストラは、原田芳宏の音楽で活動しているからです。
参加にあたり演奏の技量に関しては、特に基準はありません。
初心者から参加したメンバーもいますし、他に仕事を持ちながら練習を重ねるメンバーが半分以上です。
ライブを外から観るのと参加するのとでは違いますので、参加希望の方は、ぜひ一度見学に来られる事をお勧めします。
オーケストラの雰囲気を知って頂いたり、楽器の事など含めいろいろ直接お話しできると思います。
